Responsibility of ALL Homeowners Regarding our Parks

There have been many complaints regarding the appearance, uses, abuses, etc. of the Avon Lakes Village subdivision (ALV) parks.

These complaints include the landscaping or lack thereof, the littering of the parks, leaving of fish hooks, fishing line and bait, the condition of the beach at Mackwood Park, the use of the parks by non ALV homeowners, the use of foul language, etc.

The ALV HOA Board is concerned about these problems and have tried to do what is possible by disposing of trash, hiring of landscaping companies to cut the lawn, fertilize and generally clean up.  However, the HOA Board is voluntary, and policing of the common areas is not our responsibility.

If we want our parks to be what we want them to be, it is the responsibility of all homeowners to police these areas.

  1. When you see someone at the park that may not belong there, ask them if they live in Avon Lakes Village.  If not, are they guests of anyone living here.  If not, inform them that the use of our parks is reserved for our homeowners and their guests.
  2. If you see someone abusing their privileges by littering or leaving fishing related items in the park, call them out.
  3. If you see litter or garbage lying around, please take the initiative to pick it up.
  4. If you hear the use of foul language, ask the perpetrators to refrain from using vulgar language.

The ALV HOA Board is working on improving the appearance of our subdivision Parks and Entrance.

Please help make the Avon Lakes Village subdivision something we can all be proud of by doing your part.

Sincerely,

The Avon Lakes Village HOA Board of Directors
